Is it necessary to teach film history in schools and how best to tell this history to ordinary viewers? Which professions will remain in demand in the film archives of the future?
How is technology changing the industry, and have archives kept up with that change?
Are there reference copies of old films and where should we look for unseen film collections? Why do experts watch amateur cinema and why do archives engage in restoration of relatively modern films?
Can finding, researching, and preserving archival materials unite and support communities? And how can communities, in turn, influence the accessibility and visibility of archival materials?
